What is Chat EQ?
At the core of ChatEQ is empowering attorneys to truly control the scope of production, privilege determinations, and key decision-making: rather than relying on linear full‑scale reviews or black‑box technology‑assisted review (TAR), it uses the attorney’s submitted response as the sole basis for defining the production scope. It automatically compares this response against client documents, swiftly filtering out obviously irrelevant materials, and only flags documents requiring attorney judgment regarding responsiveness, privilege, and mixed categories for further review. All original documents remain intact, emails and their attachments are always processed as a group, and non‑production items such as pleadings and strategy memos are excluded by default. Before starting the review process, attorneys can edit and sign off on the final scope and privilege list, with all redactions, privilege markings, and outstanding matters subject to final confirmation and issuance by the attorney.
Key features
Automatically defines the scope of production based on the attorney’s submitted response, without expanding to include all of the opposing party’s requests or other transactions within the same document, ensuring precise and controllable boundaries.
Privilege review and responsiveness review are completely separated; any document possessing both responsiveness and privilege attributes is explicitly marked as a retained item, never overriding privilege markings due to its responsive nature.
