Tencent WorkBuddy launches “Remote Control”: your phone can view and take over your computer desktop in real time, with remote operations not consuming Tokens.

On October 28, Tencent WorkBuddy launched its “Remote Control” feature, powered by the Tencent Edge One team. The mobile app enables one-tap connection to a computer, allowing users to view and take control of the desktop in real time. The screen appears as a small floating window either on the home page or at the top of the chat page, with an input box available and the ability to correct tasks that stray from the intended path. When switched to full-screen landscape mode, tapping anywhere on the screen corresponds to clicking the same spot on the computer. On the right side, there are “Actions,” “Keyboard,” and “Mouse” tools; the “Actions” menu lets users tile windows, return to the desktop, switch screens, and more.

Stanford research, Red Sea corals, and a Chinese model

On September 4, 2026, another edition of the International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) opened in Berlin, with the Innovation Stage at the exhibition center packed to capacity. The opening keynote of IFA 2026 was titled “The Age of Personal AI: The Future of Imagination,” delivered by Jack Huynh, AMD Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Unit. As one of the most important annual events in the consumer electronics industry, everyone in the audience was eagerly awaiting AMD’s biggest announcement of the year. In the first half of his presentation, Huynh naturally focused on hardware: the next-generation Ryzen AI Max PRO processor and AMD’s “Sundance” laptop—designed specifically for personal AI after years of refinement. Then, during the demo segment, he shifted gears: “What if you could create an entire world with just a single prompt?” With both hands cradling the laptop, no play button appeared on the screen. The camera smoothly panned forward, moving through the streets of a Chinese town and then along rural paths in Europe. Light and shadow shifted naturally with each change in perspective, as the world unfolded endlessly before our eyes. This wasn’t a pre-rendered video—it was a real-time, interactive 3D environment. For some time previously, such capabilities had mostly been confined to lab settings or academic paper demonstrations. But presenting this level of sophistication on the main stage of a major consumer electronics show marked a first for the industry. At the end of the demo, Huynh turned to the microphone and declared, “This is the future of Personal AI.” What many don’t realize is that the world model powering this demonstration—LingBot-World 2.0—comes directly from Robbyant, the embodied intelligence team under Ant Group. Looking back three months later, that demo was only the beginning. From university labs to chipmakers’ development kits, from independent developers’ tools to workflows in vertical industries, the LingBot series of models is now making its way into the foundational layers of global embodied intelligence technology, serving as a springboard for innovation across numerous teams—and even finding applications in coral reef research in the Red Sea. 01 Becoming a Benchmark for Academic Research Being chosen to take the stage at AMD wasn’t mere luck. Prior to this, Robbyant had already established itself as an invisible standard within the global academic community of embodied intelligence. One long-standing challenge in the world-modeling field is object permanence: simply put, when the camera moves away from an object…

Top journal gives “AI doctor” its due: consultation accuracy far surpasses that of humans

Microsoft has enabled a single large model to assume the roles of five “doctors” forming a consultation team, with one AI doctor specifically tasked with challenging assumptions. When other members lean toward a particular diagnosis, this AI doctor identifies potential flaws, preventing the group from veering further down an incorrect line of reasoning. This system, called MAI‑DxO, recently appeared in the journal Science. According to results Microsoft released on October 22, in tests conducted using 304 challenging cases from the New England Journal of Medicine, its diagnostic accuracy stood at approximately 83%. By comparison, the group of human doctors allowed to consult external resources achieved about 36% accuracy. Within the consultation team, there is also a member dedicated to cost management: if a less expensive test can provide equivalent information, it recommends substituting it, aiming to minimize spending on procedures that are costly yet offer limited benefit. The research team hopes this division of labor will both help the AI pinpoint the underlying cause of illness and reduce unnecessary testing expenses. Moving forward, Microsoft plans to collaborate with U.S....

Manus has just quietly released its 2.0 manifesto.

On October 26, Zhang Tao (online alias HideCloud), co-founder and product partner at Manus, recently published a lengthy article on his WeChat public account “Qianyun Sisi,” titled “Transforming Manus with Manus.” The piece opens with an image that left a deep impression on him. He had submitted several requirements and bug reports to an engineer; when he checked back later, he found that the engineer’s computer had multiple Codex and Manus sessions open. Clicking on any one of them, he saw that the input was precisely the original requirement he’d just posted on Slack—without a single word changed. Even more surprising to him was that this engineer was simultaneously working on over ten or twenty tasks. At Manus today, this has become the norm. The article is packed with information, but a few key points are especially worth noting. Internally, Manus has created a unified code entry point called Manus-mono, accompanied by a manual designed for AI, enabling the AI system to view the entire project landscape across repositories. With a single request, one person can complete all client-side development. The mobile team has consistently consisted of only seven members, yet they manage two products and four apps, keeping their progress largely in sync with the web version. All product managers have submitted code to Manus, and roughly half of them can independently bring their requirements to production. Some product managers even turn their written requirements into video presentations. Meanwhile, the marketing team now has a “digital colleague” that schedules its own tasks, proactively reminds everyone of project deadlines, and even reaches out across teams to clarify feature details. In September, the company’s per-capita AI spending exceeded $10,000, with a small number of individuals consuming as much as $70,000 to $80,000 in a single month. Zhang Tao dedicated an entire section to addressing external skepticism. The timing of the article’s release is also noteworthy. At the end of September, Manus launched version 2.0 along with its personal AI agent app, Cue; in early October, the parent company Butterfly Effect announced the completion of a new round of financing exceeding $500 million, while simultaneously opening 17 positions in Beijing. Seen against this backdrop, the article reads less like a routine update and more like a manifesto marking the Manus team’s entry into the 2.0 era. It discusses how the organization leverages AI to evolve, while revealing the company’s product roadmap, cost structure, and hiring standards. 01 Manus itself serves as a showcase for 2.0 If you compare the internal practices described in the article with the feature list of Manus 2.0, you’ll find…

Neocloud: This wall on the verge of collapse—Jensen Huang is propping it up, while Musk is pushing it down.

Jensen Huang is still struggling to prop up the Neocloud wall, while Musk has already predicted its collapse. The first domino in the AI bubble may well be among these companies. On October 25, Musk issued a warning on X: in recent weeks, the debt markets have virtually stopped extending financing to firms that lack substantial revenue streams beyond their AI data centers. He forecast that more than 200 Neocloud players will face “guppy‑level” deaths and consolidation, with only a handful ultimately surviving. Yet just three days earlier, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang offered a nearly opposite assessment. On October 22, during an interview with CNBC, Huang insisted that demand for Neocloud computing power remains extremely robust; the real bottleneck is insufficient working capital, and funding challenges will eventually be resolved. Both men remain optimistic about the demand for AI compute, but they differ sharply on how to manage the business of renting out computing power...
