What is OpenTypeless?
OpenTypeless is a free, open-source, account-free desktop voice input tool that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It allows users to initiate voice input in any application via a global hotkey. The tool supports 99 languages and automatically detects the input language. Users can independently configure speech-to-text (STT) and large language model (LLM) service providers, including Deepgram, Whisper-compatible endpoints, Groq, GLM-4-Voice, AssemblyAI, SiliconFlow, and others. It also supports locally run models like Ollama and LM Studio for text polishing. AI polishing is an optional feature that can correct grammar, punctuation, tone, and structure, while intelligently adapting the output format based on the currently active application—such as Gmail, Slack, Google Docs, or Cursor. Additionally, users can customize their own dictionaries, adding proper nouns, product terminology, and technical vocabulary, with support for searching, editing, importing, and exporting.

Do you need to register an account or subscribe to use it?
